Zero Chance of Passage goes International!

Just as I arrived in Chicago to speak at the International Conference on Education (ICE) sponsored by Concept Schools, we learned that Zero Chance of Passage:  The Pioneering Charter School Story won the Education/Academic category of the International Book Awards!  The book also was a Finalist in the Social Change category.

I’m pleased to team up with Carrie Bakken of Avalon Charter School in St. Paul for our conference presentation, focusing on teacher autonomy and leadership opportunities in chartering.  Carrie has been a teacher/leader of a successful teacher professional partnership at Avalon for over 13 years.

Conference attendees include educators from all over the world.  I can’t wait to meet as many as possible over the next few days! Now off to a boat ride on the Chicago River in lovely 88 degree weather… 🙂
